Caring for America Project -- USO

As we begin a new year and a new OFRW administration, we also begin a new project.  This year we will be putting our efforts into support of the Ohio USO Care Package Program.
The USO was founded in 1941 and since then, has been serving our men and women in the military all over the world. The Care Package program sends a little bit of home to our service members serving overseas and here at home in times of peace and war, the USO is always there. As a wife of a now retired Marine, I can tell you how much those Care Packages mean to the men and women of our military. For some, it is the only package they will receive and it means more than I can say.
The monies that we will raise will be given to the USO of Ohio and kept here in Ohio for the Care Package Program in Northern Ohio. The care packages will go to Ohio military members.
We are asking our local clubs and members of OFRW to donate money for the USO Care Package Program. We ask that your checks ─ either from clubs or individuals ─ be made out to USO. By doing so, donations from individual members ARE tax deductible. Checks made out to OFRW to be directed to Caring for America are NOT tax deductible.

  * We will keep track of all donations from each club and individual.
    * We will keep our Treasurer informed of all donations.
    * We will send the donations along with a letter from the OFRW to the USO.
    * We will list all individuals in the letter and amounts donated.

We hope we can really make a difference in the lives of people who serve us so well. We appreciate your support for this very worthwhile project.
There are many projects to choose from and many needs throughout our state.  Please scroll down to view a  flyer about the Care Package Program. Or, click HERE to view a .pdf file of the flyer
