A Minute With GOD

With what is going on in the world these days, Heaven could end up a ghost town.

My name is God.  You hardly have time for Me.  I love you and will always bless you.

I am always with you.  I need you to spend 60 seconds of your time with Me today. Don't pray, just praise.

I'll help you with something you are in need of; even if just quiet time.

Why are prayers getting shorter, but bars and clubs are enlarging and expanding?

Why is it so easy to worship a celebrity, but very difficult to walk with Me?

Think about it, will you offer a prayer just now, or are you going to ignore doing so, because your don’t have time for Me?

"BE STILL AND KNOW THAT I AM GOD"
                                                                           Psalm 46:10

Dear Beloved God in Heaven,

Please give us a president that loves this country and everything it stands for.

Please give us a president who respects you as the one true God.

Please give us a president who will, with your help, restore this nation to its former glory, the way you created her.

Please help us to respect what you have given to us and not take anything for granted ever again.

Please God, weaken the evil and strengthen the good, both within and without.

May our eyes be opened.

Amen

IF You Could of had a Choice --

Would You Have Been Born a Woman??

We hear so much about this being a man's world, with everything  going toward the men.

If you stop and think, and read the Bible God has used women in various roles and He was always quick to credit the women thru out the Bible.

He spoke of Lilia, (the seller of purple) as a business woman of Bible times. He spoke of Priscilla, as a great woman of God. He dedicated a whole book of the Bible to Esther, who lead an army of men to war.

So you see women have always had an important role in history.

We either decide to be a stay at home mom or a business woman.

God leaves the choice to us, but, not matter which we choose, or if we choose both, we have a great responsibility to make sure we always include God in out plans. We can do that by the way we present ourselves to others, always being one who speaks the truth in every situation, slow to anger, and always thinking before we speak.

Women are the instruments God has used thru out history, And He is still using us today,

We must teach our children the  basic things of life, always be truthful and always rely on God.

We as women of the Ohio Federation of Republican Women, we can fulfill the obligations given us with truth and prayer. We need to band together for what is right for our nation. We, as women, have a great responsibility , to God and to the Republican Party.  We must not let up on our training of the younger women and men; and most of all we must not let up on our prayer for the generation that is to lead the nation.

Remember the hand that rocks the cradle, rules the world, we have a great influence on our Republican Party and our younger generation.  Lets us fulfill our obligations with prayer and we will become the great nation that was found upon God once again.

Forever

Friendship is beautiful as it blossoms and grows with time.
Giving and sharing from the heart helps one to become less self-
centered and much more aware of those in need around you.
A true friend accepts you just the way you are without the fancy
       package and trimming.
Sincerity and honesty are the only requirements needed to unlock
the door for this special relationship.
Separation from a friend leaves an emptiness, but the wonderful
memories that remain are there to remind you to be thankful
for the time you had to share and care.
Time can never erase a friendship.

A Special Gift

Giving a smile to someone can help to ease a worry or a care
Sometimes a smile tells someone, “IF you have a need I will always be there.”
A sincere smile from within can convey much more than words throughout the years.
A smile from a friend can help to wipe away the painful tears.’
Thought stress and turmoil will touch the lives of everyone,
It is those who can smile, no matter what, who will have the battle won.
So when the day seems darkest, and you are feeling very blue,
Just remember to smile from within, because…
                                                                   God does love you!

My Name is Gossip

My name is Gossip. I have no respect for justice. I maim without killing. I break hearts and ruin lives.

I am cunning and malicious and gather strength with age.

The more I am quoted the more I am believed.

My victims are helpless. They can not protect themselves against me because I have no name and no face.

To track me down is impossible. The harder you try the more elusive I become.

I am nobodys friend. Once I tarnish a reputation, it is never the same.

I topple governments and wreck marriages.

I ruin careers and cause sleepless nights, heartaches and indigestion.

I make innocent people cry in their pillows.

Even my name hisses. I am called Gossip.

I make headlines and heartaches.

Before you repeat a story, ask yourself :

Is it true?

Is it harmless?

Is it necessary?

If it isn’t, don’t repeat it.

Lev.19:16a…Thou  shalt not go up and down as a talebearer among thy people (King James Version)

For Our Country

Lord Jesus Christ, King of the universe, look with mercy on those who rule over us. Grant to our President and his administration the grace to know and do your will. Let them serve all their subjects in truth and righteousness.

Inspire our Congressmen with the courage to make laws for the good of all rather than the few. Give our Judges your Spirit of wisdom and understanding that they may discern the truth and impartially administer the law.

Dear Lord, please give our people the will and knowledge to help in making our way of government continue to work.

Amen.

Stimulus Sermon

Based on Genesis 47:13-27

It is amazing to see that very little has changed in over 2,000 years.

Good morning, brothers and sisters; it's always a delight to see the pews crowded on Sunday morning, and so eager to get into God's Word. Turn with me in your Bibles, if you will, to the 47th chapter of Genesis. We'll begin our reading at verse 13, and go through verse 27.

Brother Ray, would you stand and read that great passage for us? ... (reading) ... Thank you for that fine reading, Brother Ray. So we see that economic hard times fell upon Egypt , and the people turned to the government of Pharaoh to deal with this for them.  And Pharaoh nationalized the grain harvest, and placed the grain in great storehouses that he had built. So the people brought their money to Pharaoh, like a great tax increase, and gave it all to him willingly in return for grain. And this went on until their money ran out, and they were hungry again.

So when they went to Pharaoh after that, they brought their livestock - their cattle, their horses, their sheep, and their donkey - to barter for grain, and verse 17 says that only took them through the end of that year. But the famine wasn't over, was it?  So the next year, the people came before Pharaoh and admitted they had nothing left, except their land and their own lives. "There is nothing left in the sight of my lord but our bodies and our land.  Why should we die before your eyes, both we and our land?  Buy us and our land for food, and we with our land will be servants to Pharaoh." So they surrendered their homes, their land, and their real estate to Pharaoh's government, and then sold themselves into slavery to him, in return for grain.

What can we learn from this, brothers and sisters?

That turning to the government instead of to God to be our provider in hard times only leads to slavery?

Yes... That the only reason government wants to be our provider is to also become our master?

Yes. After Jacob and Joseph passed on, and the Jews began to drift away from their GOD, even they too became slaves in the land of Egypt   .

I also tell you a great truth today, and an ominous one.

We see the same thing happening today - the government today wants to "share the wealth" once again, to take it from us and redistribute it back to us.
It wants to take control of healthcare, just as it has taken control of education, and ration it back to us, and when government rations it, then government decides who gets it, and how much, and what kind.

And if we go along with it, and do it willingly, then we will wind up no differently than the people in Egypt did four thousand years ago - as slaves to the government, and as slaves to their leaders. What Mr. Obama’s government is doing now is no different from what Pharaoh’s government did then, and it will end the same. And a lot of people like to call Mr. Obama a “Messiah,” don’t they?

Is he a Messiah? A savior?

Didn't the Egyptians say, after Pharaoh made them his slaves, "You have saved our lives; may it please my lord, we will be servants to Pharaoh"? Well, I tell you this - I know the Messiah; the Messiah is a friend of mine; and Mr. OBAMA IS NO MESSIAH!

No, brothers and sisters, if Mr. Obama is a character from the Bible, then he is Pharaoh. Bow with me in prayer, if you will...

Lord, You alone are worthy to be served, and we rely on You, and You alone. We confess that the government is not our deliverer, and never rightly will be. We read in the eighth chapter of 1 Samuel, when Samuel warned the people of what a ruler would do, where it says "And in that day you will cry out because of your king, whom you have chosen for yourselves, but the LORD will not answer you in that day..."

And Lord, we acknowledge that day has come. We cry out to you because of the ruler that we have chosen for ourselves as a nation. Lord, we pray for this nation. We pray for revival, and we pray for deliverance from those who would be our masters. Give us hearts to seek You and hands to serve You, and protect Your people from the atrocities of a new Pharaoh's government. In God We Trust...

And all of God's people said Amen!

For Personal Comfort

Dear Lord,
I thank you for this day. I thank You for my being able to see and to hear this morning. I'm blessed because You are a forgiving God and an understanding God. You have done so much for me and You keep on blessing me. Forgive me this day for everything I have done, said or thought that was not pleasing to you. I ask now for Your forgiveness.
Please keep me safe from all danger and harm. Help me to start this day with a new attitude and plenty of gratitude. Let me make the best of each day to clear my mind so that I can hear from You.
Let me not whine and whimper over things I have no control. Let me continue to see sin through God's eyes and acknowledge it as evil. And when I sin, let me repent, and confess with my mouth my wrongdoing, and receive the forgiveness of God.
And when this world closes in on me, let me remember Jesus' example -- to slip away and find a quiet place to pray. It's the best response when I'm pushed beyond my limits. I know that when I can't pray, You listen to my heart. Continue to use me to do Your will.
Continue to bless me that I may be a blessing to others. Keep me strong that I may help the weak.. Keep me uplifted that I may have words of encouragement for others. I pray for those who are lost and can't find their way. I pray for those who are misjudged and misunderstood. I pray for those who don't know You intimately. I pray for those who will delete this without sharing it with others. I pray for those who don't believe. But I thank you that I believe.
I believe that God changes people and God changes things. I pray for all my sisters and brothers. For every family member in their households. I pray for peace, love and joy in their homes that they are out of debt and all their needs are met.
I pray that every eye that reads this knows there is no problem, circumstance, or situation greater than God. Every battle is in Your hands for You to fight.
I pray that these words be received into the hearts of every eye that sees them and every mouth that confesses them willingly..

This is my prayer - In Jesus' Name,
Amen

For Our Troops

Heavenly Father, hold our troops in Your loving hands.  Protect them as they protect us.  Bless them and their families for the selfless acts they perform.  These things we humbly ask in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior.

Amen

Prayer to Start a Meeting (1)

As we watch the events around us, sometimes our hearts grow heavy. There seem to be so many problems which we need to address with the help of your wisdom. There are so many obstacles to solutions. Please give us the ability to attack these things with energy and a wise heart and mind.

As this group seeks this day to conduct business, help us to be able to accomplish things in a way that uses the talents and knowledge, represented in this room, in the manner most beneficial. We have many such gifts and we are thankful for your giving us those parts of our personalities. We are mothers and daughters and sisters and friends. We need all the help with which You bless us, to do the best of those things, then in addition, the best political operatives, too.

Amen

Prayer to Start a Meeting (2)

For Spring

Thank you Gracious Heavenly Father, for the blessing of the spring sunshine. It is so good to see it and it warms our hearts with the reminder of the Resurrection.

Thank You for those gathered here today for this meeting. There is so much we need to accomplish. Help us to know how to do that.

As Americans, we thank You for all You have done for us, and many have done to protect our freedoms.

Amen

A lesson in
 Women's Voting History
A short history lesson on the privilege of voting...
The women were innocent and defenseless. And by the end of the night, they were barely alive. Forty prison guards wielding clubs and their warden's blessing went on a rampage against the 33 women wrongly convicted of "obstructing sidewalk traffic."

They beat Lucy Burn, chained her hands to the cell bars above her head and left her hanging for the night, bleeding and gasping for air. They hurled Dora Lewis into a dark cell, smashed her head against an iron bed and knocked her out cold. Her cell mate, Alice Cosu, thought Lewis was dead and suffered a heart attack. Additional affidavits describe the guards grabbing, dragging, beating, choking, slamming, pinching, twisting and kicking the women.

Thus unfolded the "Night of Terror" on Nov. 15, 1917, when the warden at the Occoquan Workhouse in Virginia ordered his guards to teach a lesson to the suffragists imprisoned there because they dared to picket Woodrow Wilson's White House for the right to vote.

For weeks, the women's only water came from an open pail. Their food-all of it colorless slop--was infested with worms. When one of the leaders, Alice Paul, embarked on a hunger strike, they tied her to a chair, forced a tube down her throat and poured liquid into her until she vomited. She was tortured like this for weeks until word was smuggled out to the press.

So, refresh my memory. Some women won't vote this year because--why, exactly? We have carpool duties? We have to get to work? Our vote doesn't matter? It's raining?

Last week, I went to a sparsely attended screening of HBO's new movie "Iron Jawed Angels." It is a graphic depiction of the battle these women waged so that I could pull the curtain at the polling booth and have my say. I am ashamed to say I needed the reminder.

All these years later, voter registration is still my passion. But the actual act of voting had become less personal for me, more rote. Frankly, voting often felt more like an obligation than a privilege. Sometimes it was inconvenient.

My friend Wendy, who is my age and studied women's history, saw the HBO movie, too. When she stopped by my desk to talk about it, she looked angry. She was -- with herself. "One thought kept coming back to me as I watched that movie," she said. "What would those women think of the way I use - or don't use - -my right to vote? All of us take it for granted now, not just younger women, but those of us who did seek to learn." The right to vote, she said, had become valuable to her "all over again."

It is jarring to watch Woodrow Wilson and his cronies try to persuade a psychiatrist to declare Alice Paul insane so that she could be permanently institutionalized. And it is inspiring to watch the doctor refuse. Alice Paul "was strong," he said, "and brave. That doesn't make her crazy."  The doctor admonished the men: "Courage in women is often mistaken for insanity."

OFRW Board Meeting
January 2013

Dear Heavenly Father:

We come to you with our minds full of things we need to thank you for: family, friends, pets, the many conveniences in our lives, being born Americans, our military, police forces, fire departments and other first responders, but most of all for Your gift of Your Son.
For all this and more we offer our inadequate thanks. Be with us now and help us accomplish business, as we need to.
We love this country, Father, and we want to work to preserve it as a free society. Lead us in the way we need to go to accomplish our part of that preservation.

Amen

RECALL NOTICE
(Just for some spiritual entertainment)

The Maker of all human beings (GOD) is recalling all units manufactured, regardless of make or year, due to a serious defect in the primary and central component of the heart. This is due to a malfunction in the original prototype units code named Adam and Eve, resulting in the reproduction of the same defect in all subsequent units.

This defect has been identified as "Sub-sequential Internal Non-morality," more commonly known as S.I.N., as it is primarily expressed.

Some of the symptoms include:
  1. Loss of direction
  2. Foul vocal emissions
  3. Amnesia of origin
  4. Lack of peace and joy
  5. Selfish or violent behavior
  6. Depression or confusion
  7. Fearfulness
  8. Idolatry
  9. Rebellion
The Manufacturer, who is neither liable nor at fault for this defect, is providing factory-authorized repair and service free of charge to correct this defect.

The Repair Technician, JESUS,has most generously offered to bear the entire burden of the staggering cost of these repairs. There is no additional fee required.

The number to call for repair in all areas is: P-R-A-Y-E-R. Once connected, please upload your burden of SIN through the REPENTANCE procedure.

Next, download ATONEMENT from the Repair Technician, Jesus, into the heart component. No matter how big or small the SIN defect is, Jesus will replace it with:
  1. Love
  2. Joy
  3. Peace
  4. Patience
  5. Kindness
  6. Goodness
  7. Faithfulness
  8. Gentleness
  9. Self control
Please see the operating manual: "Best Instructions Before Leaving Earth" (B.I.B.L.E.) for further details on the use of these fixes.

WARNING: Continuing to operate the human being unit without correction voids any manufacturer warranties, exposing the unit to dangers and problems too numerous to list, and will result in the human unit being permanently impounded. For free emergency service, call on Jesus.

DANGER: The human being units not responding to this recall action will have to be scrapped in the furnace. The SIN defect will not be permitted to enter Heaven to prevent contamination of that facility.

Thank you for your attention!
- GOD

P.S. Please assist where possible by notifying others of this important recall notice, and you may contact the Father any time by 'Knee mail'!

American's Creed

I believe in the United States of America as a government of the people, by the people, for the people; whose just powers are derived from the consent of the governed; a democracy in a republic; a sovereign Nation of many sovereign States; a perfect union, one and inseparable; established upon those principles of freedom, equality, justice, and humanity for which American patriots sacrificed their lives and fortunes.

I therefore believe it is my duty to my country to love it; to support its Constitution; to obey its laws; to respect its flag; and to defend it against all enemies.

Having been sent the above "American's Creed", and never having heard about it before, some research seemed to be in order. The following is information received form the United States Library of Congress, in response to an inquiry regarding the American's Creed::

From the Office of the Clerk
U. S. House of Representatives
“American’s Creed” by Clerk of the House William Tyler Page
April 03, 1918
On this date, the House of Representatives honored William Tyler Page, a longtime congressional employee and Clerk of the House, for his authorship of the “American’s Creed.” In 1916, on the eve of the U.S. entry into World War I, Henry Sterling Chapin, the New York commissioner of education, devised a national writing competition to foster patriotism and civic responsibility among U.S. citizens. Of the more than 3,000 submissions for an American creed, Page’s winning entry was described as “brief and simple but remarkably comprehensive of the best in American ideals, history, and tradition, as expressed by the founders of the Republic and its greatest statesmen and writers.” The House ceremony to recognize Page included Speaker of the House James Beauchamp (Champ) Clark of Missouri and former Speaker Joe Cannon of Illinois. Members of Congress paid tribute to the veteran employee—who began his career as a House Page in 1881—for his service to the institution and his country. Page, who received $1,000 for his winning entry, recited the “American’s Creed” on the Capitol steps which ended with the declaration, “I therefore believe it is my duty to my country to love it, to support its Constitution, to obey its laws, to respect its flag, and to defend it against all enemies.” In further recognition of Page’s accomplishment, the House placed a bronze tablet of the “American’s Creed” in the Capitol.

Further information from the Library of Congress:
It is important to note that no law has ever been passed by the U.S. Congress, stating that "The American Creed" is the national creed of the United States.  There are federal laws that state that the national anthem of the United States is the "Star Spangled Banner;" that the motto of the United States is "In God We Trust;" that the national flower is the rose and the national tree is the oak; proclaiming the "pledge of allegiance;" detailing the Great Seal of the United States; and with regard to the U.S. Flag.  However, there is nothing in the U.S. Code (The Code of Laws of the United States) with respect to a "national creed" or an "American creed."  You can search the U.S. Code by clicking HERE.
Through Google Books, you can find the full text of a book written by William Tyler Page entitled: "The Book of the American's Creed," published in 1921.

Three Prayers for our Country

Summer 2012 Prayer

2011 Tribute to Women Prayer

by Anna Caldwell

Dear Heavenly Father we thank You for this summer morning and we thank You for this group that is gathered here. We know Lord that there are many, many gifts present in this room many things that these ladies have used to bless this state and their local communities and the nation with efforts to preserve liberty and freedom. I thank You for the gifts that You have given them. And I thank You as an American for the many many material gifts You have given us. I most especially thank You for the gift of Your Son and for the freedom and liberty that You have given to us as Americans as we might be a lighthouse on the hill to the rest of the world. I don’t want to forget the military personnel Lord, we know that their lives are always at risk in many places in the world. I ask that You would look down on them put Your hand on their shoulders and make them feel Your presence, guide them, give them courage, and wisdom to protect themselves and to protect us which is their mission in life at this point in their lives. Thank You for the speakers that will be here and thank You for each of the honorees today and give us traveling mercies as we go home. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Prayer 1

By Chaplain Anna Caldwell and Board Member Rise Roach -- October 2010

We come to you today, Heavenly Father, our hearts heavy with concern for this country.  We are so thankful for the gifts of freedom and liberty that You have given us. Freedoms are being being stolen and criticized by some who have been elected to protect them. We ask Your healing hand on our nation, especially on the hearts of those whose idea of liberty is so different from ours.  We thank You for the great wisdom of our Founding Fathers and pray that it will be Your will that their efforts and faith in you, as the bedrock of this county, will endure for many generations.
Give us the wisdom and knowledge to influence our friends and families about the importance of honoring our commitment to You, to our history, and to the future.
We now thank you for the thousands of lives given in battles in the past as well as those who will be asked to place their lives in danger in days yet to come, to preserve the integrity of our freedom.  We recognize the bravery of their commitment and its similarity to the sacrifice of Your son.
We also pray for our men and women who are presently in danger.  Guide and protect them; give them calm hearts, clarity of mind, and physical strength so that they may keep themselves safe to return to the families and friends who love them so much.
We trust that You will intervene in the coming election to preserve this nation that we love which has been such an example of hope in a sometimes hopeless world.

Amen
